Taylor Lake, North Dumfries, Ontario
A cabin Thoreau would be proud of.
It is a machine for writing - a place of retreat for the creative professional, built around the creative process. For to the writer wishing to straighten out their thoughts the cabin is clean, minimal, and organized. From all areas of rest and utility the cabin invites the occupant to get lost in the expansive forest views, and find spark for the imagination. Drawn open, the glass walls invite in the sound of the creek. The roof’s overhang attempts to capture the sound of the water, deflecting it into the space. When it comes time to work the writer finds them self in a deliberate workspace, guarded from behind by the works of other writers. Here the view is only forward.
